About the owner...
Home of the Wild Ranch was founded in December of 2021 by Samantha Shaffer. Samantha graduated with her bachelor's degree in psychology at the age of 18 and began her Master's degree in clinical counseling a year later. Samantha has had a passion for animals, working with them professionally and personally, since she was the age of 3. She strongly believes in animal assisted therapy that goes far beyond domesticated animals like dogs and cats. Samantha quickly found that her mission in life was to educate the public about wildlife, partake in conservation, and share her love of these unique exotic animals with qualified private homes.
Samantha has big dreams for Home of the Wild Ranch which consist of switching locations to a large portion of acreage that will be able to provide private tours and unique animal encounters/ petting zoos to the public.

Home of the Wild is a USDA and TPWD licensed facility that provides a zoo-to-you service in a petting zoo like manner for any special birthday party, private event, school event, and more! We are interactive, educational, and have room for flexibility to make the experience unique to your needs!
We also take part in the propagation of exotic animals for zoos, educational programs, and qualified private homes.
Breeding programs
We propagate a variety of exotic animals and want the very best placement for our babies, which means knowledgeable and responsible new parents. We are more than happy to offer any guidance, knowledge, and insight to the husbandry for all our babies to ensure that as a new exotic owner you feel ready to take your new baby home. We will educate you on the good, bad, and ugly of all our babies to prepare you for what the next years to come might entail with your new baby. Even if you do not decide purchase a baby from us, we want to promote education within the exotic animal community and are happy to answer any and all questions you might have!
